The future of dining isn't just about what's on the menu. It's about how an experience makes you feel. With that belief at its heart, the OC Restaurant Association is introducing a new creative vision for 2027, one that places human connection, sensory experiences, and the joy of discovery at the center of its culinary events, marketing initiatives, and restaurant partnerships.
Guided by the philosophy Awaken Every Sense, the organization is evolving its House of Brands to celebrate something that has always made dining out special: the ability of great food, drink, hospitality, and shared experiences to bring people together.
"We live in a world where everything is moving faster, but some of life's best moments happen when we slow down, gather around a table, and experience something wonderful," said Pamela Waitt, President of the OC Restaurant Association. "A beautiful meal, an unexpected flavor, a great conversation, or the energy of a room filled with people enjoying themselves. Those are the moments we remember. That's what we want to create more of."
A New Approach to Culinary Experiences
For 2027, the organization's portfolio of events and platforms will embrace a shared emotional purpose while maintaining each brand's individual personality.
Orange County Restaurant Week, returning March 7–13, 2027, will invite diners to rediscover the excitement of dining out, exploring new restaurants, celebrating favorite establishments, and experiencing the creativity of Orange County's culinary community.
The Tequila Classic will bring the philosophy to life through a multisensory celebration of agave, combining exceptional tequila, inspired culinary pairings, music, storytelling, and immersive discoveries.
Margarita Week, Burger Week, and Imbibe Week will each offer their own expressions of discovery, enjoyment, and connection, creating more compelling reasons for people to get out, gather, and celebrate.
The organization's digital platforms, including national destination TacoTuesday.com and regional culinary publication OCfoodies.com, will extend the philosophy through editorial storytelling, restaurant discoveries, social content, and campaigns that celebrate the emotional connections people have with food and dining.
Creating Meaningful Connections.
The 2027 vision also reflects an important opportunity for the restaurant industry.
In an increasingly competitive dining landscape, visibility matters, but creating memorable experiences gives people a deeper reason to choose a restaurant, share a recommendation, and return. For restaurant partners, the philosophy is about inspiring visits and strengthening guest relationships. For sponsors and brand partners, it creates opportunities to participate in experiences that connect with consumers on a more meaningful level.
"Our mission has always been to drive people into restaurants," Waitt added. "What we're embracing now is the understanding that people aren't simply going out to eat. They're going out to feel something. To connect. To celebrate. To enjoy being alive. When we create more of those moments, everyone benefits."
The message for 2027 is simple: Life is meant to be experienced, and some of its most memorable moments happen around a table.
